DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The Emergency Departments is comprised of a multidisciplinary team who provides 24/7 specialized care to patients during an emergency visit through discharge or hospitalization. Respiratory Therapy Department is responsible for care at all 4-hospitals in the St. Charles system.
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Director of Emergency Services assumes 24-hour responsibility, authority, and accountability for patient care activities and service operations, provides strategic and operational leadership in the organization as assigned and has specific management authority responsibility for assigned campus services and/or departments. Provides business and operational planning, financial management, physician relationships and partnerships related to the achievement of campus and system strategic goals. Builds and maintains physician, caregiver, and peer relationships. Collaborates with physicians for the implementation of policies, procedures, standards, and regulations for the department to facilitate patient-centered, evidence-based care. This position directly supervises the Manager of the Bend Emergency Department, the Manager of the Redmond Emergency Department and Manager of Respiratory Therapy (System).
- Experience in case management or home care is highly desirable
Education
Required: Master’s degree, if Master degree is not in nursing, must have Bachelor’s in Nursing required.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Nursing.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Required: Current Oregon RN license.
Ability to travel to business functions/trainings/meetings and all St. Charles Health Systems worksites required.
AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification.
