Emergency Room Technician provides clinical and administrative support to emergency department staff. Prepares patients for physician examination. Being an Emergency Room Technician measures and records vital signs, performs EKGs, and collects lab samples as needed. Provides wound care and assists with splints, slings, casts, and crutches. Additionally, Emergency Room Technician cleans, inspects, and sets up emergency rooms and equipment. Requires a high school diploma. Requires CPR/BLS Certification. May require EMT or CNA Certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Emergency Room Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.
