Emergency Room Technician provides clinical and administrative support to emergency department staff. Prepares patients for physician examination. Being an Emergency Room Technician measures and records vital signs, performs EKGs, and collects lab samples as needed. Provides wound care and assists with splints, slings, casts, and crutches. Additionally, Emergency Room Technician cleans, inspects, and sets up emergency rooms and equipment. Requires a high school diploma. Requires CPR/BLS Certification. May require EMT or CNA Certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Emergency Room Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Fast paced emergency veterinary hospital is looking for a enthusiastic team player to add to our overnight staff. Overnight staff are paid $5/hr overnight differential (rate of $30/hr includes $5 differential). Duties include various veterinary technician duties such as handling dogs and cats that may be under duress, nursing duties, anesthetic monitoring and surgical assistant. Requirements: top notch people and customer service skills, respect but not fear of potentially fractious animals, attention to detail and cleanliness, ability to learn and master veterinary software programs. The clinic is open 365 days a year. Holidays are paid at 1 1/2 times regular hourly wage. Pay for this position starts at $25/hr plus $5/hr differential and may be negotiable based on experience.
Must be a certified veterinary technician capable and confident in surgical assisting.
