Emergency Room Technician

7am – 7pm shift

We are currently seeking an Emergency Room Technician for an immediate full-time, 36-hour position to work 7am-7pm.

Duties:

• Assist healthcare professionals in the assessment, treatment, and care of patients presenting to the emergency department.
• Perform basic patient care tasks, including obtaining vital signs, collecting specimens, and assisting with patient hygiene and comfort.
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist with medical interventions as directed by the medical staff.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment in the emergency department, including restocking supplies and cleaning equipment.
• Assist with the transportation of patients to and from the emergency department, including transferring patients to other areas of the hospital when necessary.
• Respond to patient needs promptly and effectively, prioritizing care based on the severity of the patient's condition.
• Document patient information accurately and in a timely manner, following departmental policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure the smooth flow of patient care in the emergency department.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Participate in departmental meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives as required.

Experience:

· Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in an emergency department or similar fast-paced environment, is preferred.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare training or certification preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
• Current CPR certification required; additional certifications such as EMT-Basic or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) are advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to providing compassionate care to patients in need.
