Emergency Room Technician provides clinical and administrative support to emergency department staff. Prepares patients for physician examination. Being an Emergency Room Technician measures and records vital signs, performs EKGs, and collects lab samples as needed. Provides wound care and assists with splints, slings, casts, and crutches. Additionally, Emergency Room Technician cleans, inspects, and sets up emergency rooms and equipment. Requires a high school diploma. Requires CPR/BLS Certification. May require EMT or CNA Certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Emergency Room Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Northern Michigan Truck Service Facility is looking for a motivated, self-driven service technician. Minimum qualifications include completion of 90 days of supervised training by a certified Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT). Be familiar with service facilities base line expectation of daily operations. Be able to do online research to access information, understand schematics and or documents pertaining to serviceable components. Applicants will be expected to provide their own set of standard mechanics hand tools. Applicants must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds to complete heavy truck service work. Must be able to work in tight quarters. Must be able to work out of position. Must be available to travel and work in a customer’s facility (fire stations) or in the field in all weather conditions. Priority given to these additional experiences or certifications: Experience in truck mechanical work. Understanding of fire apparatus, water pumps, hydraulics, and both 12- and 120-volt electrical systems. ASE certification (heavy truck), EVT certification (Emergency Vehicle Technician), Class A or B CDL (Commercial Driver’s License).
