Emergency Room Technician jobs in Federal Way, WA
Emergency Room Technician provides clinical and administrative support to emergency department staff. Prepares patients for physician examination. Being an Emergency Room Technician measures and records vital signs, performs EKGs, and collects lab samples as needed. Provides wound care and assists with splints, slings, casts, and crutches. Additionally, Emergency Room Technician cleans, inspects, and sets up emergency rooms and equipment. Requires a high school diploma. Requires CPR/BLS Certification. May require EMT or CNA Certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Emergency Room Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Job Description
As an emergency room nurse (RN ER), you will be the first line of defense for patients who require any type of urgent medical care. You will treat patients who are suffering from trauma, injury or severe medical conditions. Working quickly to assess the condition of the patient, you will provide necessary care, monitor health conditions, administer medicine, and utilize medical equipment. Once the patient is stabilized and their medical problem is treated, you will then determine whether the patient should be discharged or make arrangements for a longer hospital stay.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent acute care experience in specialty
- ASN, ADN, BSN or MSN required
