Emergency Medical Technician responds to emergency calls for medical assistance, assesses the situation, obtains a basic medical history and physical examination of the patient, and provides emergency care at the scene and during transit to the hospital. Utilizes necessary medical equipment to treat the patient and ascertains the extent of their injuries or illness. Being an Emergency Medical Technician communicates with the medical care facility receiving the patient about the patient's condition, status, and arrival time. May require registry in NREMT. Additionally, Emergency Medical Technician requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Emergency Medical Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     We are hiring Emergency Medical Technicians.

    Emergency medical technicians (EMTs) respond to medical emergencies and deliver patient care, support, and evaluation in a pre-hospital setting, like on scene and during transport to the hospital. This generally includes assessing the patient, determining the proper emergency care, and administering treatment. EMTs also help with transporting patients safely between hospitals and care facilities.

    Responsibilities for EMT

    • Examine and evaluate patients to determine necessary care
    • Provide patients with emergency response and care by utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment
    • Performance of occupational health duties such as drug screens, hearing tests, fit tests, and physicals.
    • Document patient information, condition, and treatment
    • Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights
    • Work within and pursuant to OSHA policies
    • Transport patients in accordance with outlined policies and procedures
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients
    • Operate and drive ambulance if necessary in conjunction with applicable safety policies and laws

    Qualifications for EMT

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
    • Current EMT certification/license in the state of practice
    • Current CPR certification
    • Must possess a valid driver's license in the state of practice
    • 1 year of experience in an emergency care setting preferred
    • Ability to bend, pull, push, and lift 50 pounds or more
    • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
    • Demonstrated ability to implement clinical care in accordance with outlined policies and procedures
    • Ability to exercise sound judgment while working in a stressful environment
