Emergency Medical Technician responds to emergency calls for medical assistance, assesses the situation, obtains a basic medical history and physical examination of the patient, and provides emergency care at the scene and during transit to the hospital. Utilizes necessary medical equipment to treat the patient and ascertains the extent of their injuries or illness. Being an Emergency Medical Technician communicates with the medical care facility receiving the patient about the patient's condition, status, and arrival time. May require registry in NREMT. Additionally, Emergency Medical Technician requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Emergency Medical Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. EMT’s have the opportunity to provide excellent basic life support to the ill and injured, to include assessment of illness and/or injury, management of such patients, preparation for transport, management during the transport, transfer of information & patient care.
EMTs must possess the following minimum qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 18 years of age.
Current Emergency Medical Technician Certification (Colorado or National Registry).
Current Valid Driver’s License with insurable driving record and annual driving record check.
EVOC certificate (will be obtained in house).
IV Certificate (can be obtained in house).
Post offer, pre-employment physical examinations/medical history check.
Possess a can-do attitude.
Pay Range starting at (depending on experience): $16.00-$19.47 - Full time rate.
