We’re looking for a passionate, driven, and driven sales professional to join our team as a Director in our Member Development Group.
What You'll Do
TIFF’s Director, Member Development Group is a pivotal role focused on client acquisition and pipeline development. The key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and build pipeline.
- Actively participate in growing TIFF’s presence in the marketplace, proactively seeking out information about competitors, market trends, and prospect needs.
- Support the sales process through the entire cycle from target market analysis, qualifying prospects, assisting with meeting preparation (agendas, research, presentation materials), and follow-up.
- Acquire a deep understanding of TIFF’s investment capabilities, philosophy, and strategies and articulate these to prospects.
- Proactively develop new long-lasting prospect relationships while partnering with them to understand their investment objectives and needs.
- Develop and/or coordinate responses to request for proposals/due diligence questionnaires that successfully convey the value of TIFF's offerings.
- Work closely with the internal team to improve and/or expand the product offerings and associated marketing materials.
- Coach and/or participate in the finals presentation process, as appropriate.
- Diligent use of CRM to manage relationships and opportunities related to prospects.
- Attend and/or speak at relevant industry conferences, to grow and maintain a large professional network and maintain market exposure for TIFF.

- An effective communicator, through both written and oral channels, with the goal of influencing colleagues and potential prospects.
- Possess the ability to prioritize workflow and manage resources to adapt to shifting priorities based on prospect opportunity set.
- Operates with high integrity and upholds the highest standards when delivering work product to internally and externally.
- Holds relationships and experience with endowments and foundations, and an understanding of nonprofit institutions, including strong knowledge of investment principles and strategies such as alternatives.
- Conceives and presents creative ideas, contributes meaningfully to group discussions, challenges others, and is open to being challenged.
- Maintains ability to travel regularly to develop relationships and represent the firm within the industry.
- Operates under a philosophy of continuous improvement.
What You Need
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 10 years of relevant experience with a successful track record of managing and executing a sales process and growing assets under management.
- Prefer experience working in a similar role within the institutional asset management industry. Endowment & Foundation experience a plus.
- Have FINRA 7 and 63 designations, to be obtained within 90 days of employment.
- High technical acumen with client management systems (e.g., Salesforce) and databases to track, analyze, and report performance against key metrics.
