A Joyful Noise Music Studio is shaping the future by teaching and leading the next generation of artists and musicians. We take our role as instructors and mentors very seriously. Not only are we teaching a skill, but we are inspiring students every time one enters the lesson room. Music can be both challenging and enjoyable and we work hard to balance the two. We believe that a person’s first experience with music is important for setting the stage for the rest of their lives.
Goal of Group Music Programs:
The goal of A Joyful Noise Music Studio’s (AJN) children’s programs is to develop and offer weekly opportunities for individuals and families of young children. We seek to cultivate and nurture an interest in all this music related. Our hope is that with early exposure to music, families will come to appreciate the many benefits that it can have in one’s life.
The Director will have primary responsibility for teaching high-quality, spirited, inviting music programming for young children. Additionally, the director will be the lead for all social media campaigns and interaction with interested parents. It is expected that the Director will work to develop and foster excellent relations and involvement by parents of children participating in the Young Children's Music Ministry.
Qualifications:
Specific experience will include demonstrated musical ability, fluency in at least one portable instrument e.g. guitar, ukulele, sing in tune and keep an accurate beat. The candidate must understand the nuances of working with a large group of young children and possess the spirit and demeanor to create an inviting, joyful, directed environment for our goals to be achieved. The Director must be able to work well with other music staff to develop an exciting, engaging music environment for young children. Candidate must be adept with social media to engage in various forms of communication on multiple platforms. The candidate must possess a deep love of children and music as well as a good sense of humor.
Description of Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities:
1. Work with the provided lessons plans to teach weekly classes. Prepare before each class to know songs, and methods of engagement.
2. Attend regular planning and development meetings with other music.
3. Recruit and develop a large group of families with children ages Pre-kindergarten (one year before kindergarten) to third grade who will gather weekly for classes. Primarily through social media.
4. Work with other music staff and to achieve supplemental music opportunities for young children. This may include, but is not limited to private music lessons, recital performances, or retail opportunities.
5. Provide program administration, including student count, make up dates and billing assistance, and other duties that may be reasonably assigned.
Accountability:
The director will be responsible to the owners of the studio.
