JOB OVERVIEW:
This role will be responsible for providing Human Resources oversight for the GOR Group (Global Oral Reconstruction Group) in the US as well as for Canada, Chile and Mexico (“Americas”). This position is expected to think strategically, while simultaneously managing the execution of the day to day actions of the local HR Teams necessary to achieve our goals. This business partner will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, development, and organizational growth. This position contributes as a key partner and trusted advisor in the accomplishment of the strategic business plan through initiatives that attract and retain diverse talent, develop team members and align organizational objectives. This position requires an experienced, collaborative and influential leader who can work effectively across the GOR Group in the US as well as the “Americas”. The Director, Human Resources will own and champion the employee experience, working closely with the leadership teams to develop strategic programs that drive engagement and reinforce the culture that aligns with our core values.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
SCOPE:
Typically direct a complex department with significant scope and financial and operational impact. Role may focus on executing a large and very complex process. Accountable for performance, results and staffing. Drives recommendations for the objectives, policies and plans. Fully accountable for meeting the strategic, and operating objectives. Develop proposed budgets for approval and manage budget once approved. Operate with substantial latitude for un-reviewed action or decision. Often plays a role in high-level projects that have an impact on the company’s future direction.
COMPLEXITY:
Work on complex, numerous and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth knowledge and an evaluation of intangibles. Experience in roles allowing for innovative concepts and promoting new ideas within the function.
STRATEGY:
Participate in establishing the strategic direction to ensure alignment with overall GOR Group and Henry Schein strategy and initiatives. Focus may be on the execution of complex processes. Translate and guide local HR Teams to implement strategy.
SUPERVISION:
Direct and control activities of the local HR Teams and serve several senior management staff who have responsibility for the operation of the assigned area.
INTERACTION:
Regularly interact with executives and stakeholders. Ability to negotiate with senior management and influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance. Build personal networks to achieve mutually beneficial solutions.
MANAGEMENT DUTIES:
Can hire, terminate, or promote and is aware of higher-level functional issues and concerns. Makes decisions on salary increases, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, etc.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Typically 10 or more years of progressive HR experience in all aspects of HR as well as business knowledge in manufacturing as well as distribution in the “Americas”.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus.
