As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers (use as appropriate), you willl apply standard engineering techniques to research, develop design, analyze, and test electrical components, equipment, software systems, and networks. Responsible for the release to production of the electronic subsystems used to monitor, communicate with, and control launch vehicles, spacecraft, satellites, and their ground support systems.

At Blue Origin, we recognize that manufacturing, and especially additive manufacturing, is a key ingredient in realizing that goal. As a member of a select, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be designing, building, and maintaining integrated control systems which form the basis for custom machinery used to additively manufacture critical spaceflight components. Numerous process controls are required for additive manufacturing, as well as especially high levels of machine, subsystem, and component reliability and process stability. Your technical expertise, engineering attitude, work ethic, dedication to quality, and passion for Blue Origin’s mission will all be applied to building and maintaining such integrated control systems.
In this role, you will directly contribute to the realization of reusable, safe, and accessible spaceflight by enabling the additive manufacturing of many of the most critical components required for it.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Minimum of five years of experience with machine tool automation and industrial controls
Prior experience with PLC programming and HMI design
Prior experience creating, modifying, and delivering electrical schematics and P&ID drawings
Prior experience with industrial control networks (EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP)
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Prior experience designing and/or building custom and/or commercial machinery
Prior education or experience related to Control Theory and its applications
Prior experience implementing control solutions based on Beckhoff products / toolsets
Prior experience working with industrial lasers and/or supporting additive manufacturing
Prior experience working to best practices of NFPA 70 and NFPA 79
