To lead this effort, Midea’s Appliance Division (KWHA) has opened a new position for an Electronics Hardware Engineer. The Electronics Hardware Engineer is a key member of the R&D Team in the US, helping drive breakthroughs on product designs and functionality as well as evaluating product quality and field failures. 

    The Electronics Hardware Engineer will be responsible for supporting hardware development and strategic direction of the following products:

    • Dishwashers 
    • Kitchen Ventilation Hoods
    • Cooktops/Hobs
    • Water Heaters
    • Water Purification Systems
    • Water Dispensing Systems
    • Essential Job Responsibilities

    The Electronics Hardware Engineer will collaborate with other team members to design unique solutions to progress innovative designs. In addition, the Electronics Hardware Engineer will conduct independent projects related to product development and quality improvement.

    • Develop innovation solutions for KWHA US Division innovations.
    • Embedded H/W design experience for appliance applications 
    • Design experience with both analog and digital circuits.
    • Experience with various serial buses, printed circuit board design and layout, microprocessors, power supply circuits, display, and cap-touch technology.
    • Experience designing electronics, control systems, electro-mechanical component connection, embedded control modules, and wire harnesses.
    • Simulation Tools:  SPICE
    • Hardware Design Tools: Schematic Capture, PCB Layout (we use AutoDesk Eagle)
    • Hardware Equipment:  DMMs, Oscilloscope, Spectrum / Network Analyzers, Function Generators, Logic Analyzers, Serial bus debugging
    • Ability to generate new product & feature ideas and develop into working prototypes.
    • Maintain a knowledge of marketplace and product trends, particularly regarding control systems.
    • Ability to determine root cause failure analysis of field returned electronic hardware components.
    • Collaborate with experts in China to maximize impact of projects.

    Qualifications

    • 3-7 years’ experience in technology, home appliance, CE, Ecommerce, or related industry
    • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related, master’s degree preferred. 
    • Program experience with C, C , GitHub, Linux
    • Knowledge of multiple computing platforms, such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32, etc.
    • Successful execution of complex projects
    • Excellent communication, motivation, and coordination skills
    • Goal oriented and self-managed personality with a strong entrepreneurial spirit
    • Strong problem solving and risk management skills.

    Desirable Skills/Knowledge

    • Knowledge of C/C particularly for embedded programming.
    • Experience with Linux or embedded RTOS.
    • IoT experience which includes networking using Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth.
    • Graphical User Interface development experience.
