Electronic Home Entertainment Equipment Repairer installs, repairs, and maintains electronic home appliances. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being an Electronic Home Entertainment Equipment Repairer may be required to be certified in an area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Electronic Home Entertainment Equipment Repairer relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. PLANT ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT REPAIRER (BC-12) [8 vacancies]

  • Installs, maintains, overhauls and repairs plant electrical and electronic control devices and equipment; and performs other related duties as required.

    Current vacancies
    There are eight vacancies with the Department of Environmental Services, located in various locations around Oahu.  The positions perform a wide variety of highly skilled electrical and electronic work in wastewater pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants, wastewater laboratories, storm drain pumping stations, machine and electric shops, and other public buildings and facilities; and perform other related duties as required.  The electrical and electronic equipment installed in wastewater facilities are an important part of the wastewater system which directly affects the health of the community and the condition of the environment.

    Special Working Conditions: Work with and around high voltage electricity, heavy machinery, moving machinery, and obnoxious odors in hazardous locations; work in confined spaces and high spaces using scaffolding or ladder; etc.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
    Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to competently perform the journey level skills and duties of this position.

    LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
    1) Valid Hawaii State journey level electrician's or a journey level industrial electrician's license.
