Ensures proper configuration and set-up of the EDI tools and systems that support file transfer between internal and external trading partners. Being an Electronic Data Interchange Specialist coordinates trading partner implementations and conducts EDI testing. Documents processes, data flow, file specifications, and mapping using standard formats. Additionally, Electronic Data Interchange Specialist may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Electronic Data Interchange Specialist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. The Data Specialist is also responsible for setting up and maintaining staff and student accounts in major software initiatives such as: Lexia, Scholastic, IXL, NWEA, etc. Performance Responsibilities: Responsible for managing outside app services, GAFE, the function of the district help ticket system, and other tasks to support the software team. Administer and manage apps used in the school district to enhance learning, manage data, and perform business functions. Manage account creation and maintenance of Standardized Assessments – both state and local assessments. Manage account creation and maintenance for all key educational products and software applications utilizing Clever, or the current district single sign-on platform when appropriate. Field incoming help requests from end users via multiple modalities (ticket system, phone, email, text, chat and remote access) in an efficient and courteous manner. Build rapport and elicit problem details from customers. Prioritize and schedule problems. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced Specialist. Utilize the trouble ticket system to record, track, and support resolving HelpDesk requests. Apply remote access tools and superior problem solving strategies to keep customers successful. Access knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution. Perform post-resolution follow-ups so customer requests are resolved successfully and support user perception of the tech dept. support.
