Overview

We are proactively seeking a Data Center Engineer for future roles within our growing IT Staffing Division. At ESI, the IT Staffing & Recruitment Team partners with our IT Clients to uncover, facilitate, and fill their staffing needs. In this role, the Data Center Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the overall health of client’s data center and minimizing downtime. This position will require 25% travel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operational control of various virtual operating systems such as VMware, Microsoft, and Citrix
• Rack/stack/install new storage, server, and networking appliances
• Maintain datacenter hardware and cable plant
• Perform root cause analysis for operational outages
• Capable of troubleshooting various hardware and software issues
• Remediate support tickets and support security initiatives
• Implement disaster recovery/emergency plan
• Collecting and reporting on information, such as incident logs
• Working with 3rd party Vendors regarding equipment, maintenance, and upgrades

Qualifications

Requirements:           

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred, or similar experience
• 2 years of electrical, mechanical or data center experience
• Strong VSphere and VMware
• Network Configuration
• MS Windows and Linux Background
• Power Shell, Python Programming
• Networks: TCP/IP, HTTP, Telnet, SSH
• Security and key encryption mechanisms
•  Regularly lift, carry, and/or move up to 50 pounds

Preferred Certifications

• VCP 6.x
• MCSE Server/Core
• CCNA/P/D/IE
• Aruba ACMP/ACSE/DX
• Various vendor platforms such as Dell/EMC/HPE
