ElectroMechanical Prototype and Manufacturing Technician

Our company has an immediate full time opening for a prototype and manufacturing technician with good electronic and mechanical skills.  The successful candidate will be engaged in assembling, building, testing, and troubleshooting geophysical instruments and navigation equipment for subsurface directional drilling.  Must have a ‘hands on’ approach and have demonstrated abilities for performing the following tasks.

• Read and understanding electrical and mechanical drawings
• Assemble electronic and mechanical equipment
• Fabricate prototype electronics and mechanical parts
• Experience with ERP/MRP software a plus
• Order appropriate electrical and mechanical parts listed on bills of materials
• Perform high quality soldering
• Install connectors by crimping and/or soldering
• Operate a variety of hand and shop tools such as drills, drill presses, small mills, routers, dremels, saws, and more
• Perform indoor and outdoor testing of survey equipment and geophysical instruments
• Occasional out-of-town travel to field sites to conduct surveys and test equipment
• Build and assemble test fixtures
• Coordinate with engineering staff and perform assembly work using engineering drawings and bills of materials
• Follow written procedural instructions to calibrate sensors or support test data collection
• Demonstrate computer proficiency (MS Office, Windows)

Requirements:

    • US Citizenship

    • 2-year degree or commensurate experience in technical role (minimum)

    • 5-to-7 years of relevant work history
