Electroencephalograph Technologist operates specialized equipment which measures and records electrical activity of the brain, peripheral nervous system, and spinal cord. Assists in the analysis and diagnosis of disorders in the brain and nervous system such as brain tumors, sleep disorders, strokes and epilepsy. Being an Electroencephalograph Technologist requires an associate degree in related area. Requires certification by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologies. Additionally, Electroencephalograph Technologist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Electroencephalograph Technologist independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Has gained full proficiency in a broad range of activities related to the job. To be an Electroencephalograph Technologist typically requires 5-7 years of related experience. Job Summary:
Performs a variety of laboratory tests and assays in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations in a designated technical department. Interprets results, subject to verification by Technologist/Supervisor, and providing allowance by State regulations.
Job Requirements:
Duties may include manual and automated testing of human samples for immunoassay, chemistry, infectious disease, immunology and may vary depending on business needs.
Perform daily and monthly maintenance.
Record all quality control and order lab inventory.
Responsible to report all lab concerns to the Lab Director.
Administrative tasks - answering phones and maintaining logs/records, and utilizing computer databases
Organizational skills especially time management
Proficiency with numbers
Communication skills-written and verbal
Previous work experience in RPR testing, immunoassay or similar platform testing.
License/Certification/Education:
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Medical Laboratory Technology equivalent
Preferred with 1-3 years lab related experience.
Physical Demands:
Speech clarity
Utilization of fingers and hands
Extended periods of standing or sitting
Moderate physical effort (up to 30 pounds); must comply with applicable safety procedures.
