Electrical Utility Trouble Shooter jobs in Minnesota

Conductor Power is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a deep understanding and hands-on experience in utility-scale solar PV layouts. This role requires proficiency in AutoCAD, PV Case, and PVsyst, making it essential for the candidate to have a comprehensive background in these software tools. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting our pre-construction team through the entire project lifecycle, ensuring optimal design, compliance, and execution of solar projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate project siting constraints, solar module, inverter, and racking technologies, BOP (balance of plant) considerations, and solar resource data to maximize project value.
• Expertly locate and layout equipment for job sites using AutoCAD and PV Case to ensure optimal system performance.
• Construct the system one-line diagrams up to the point of connection, coordinating with the electrical engineering team.
• Provide PV-specific details and calculations using PVsyst, ensuring designs are optimized for efficiency and compliance.
• Guarantee that all projects adhere to industry standards and regulations, maintaining high-quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate with structural, civil, electrical, technology, and architectural teams to ensure integrated and cohesive project execution.
• Contribute to project proposals and RFP responses, showcasing Conductor Power’s value proposition.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum (4) years of experience in designing layouts for utility-scale solar PV projects and or substations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating detailed project layouts.
• Demonstrated experience with PVCase for solar project design and optimization.
• Proficiency in PVsyst for detailed analysis and simulation of solar PV systems.
• Strong understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC) and other relevant standards.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities, capable of collaborating with clients and across multidisciplinary teams.
• Design optimization skills that involve technical parameters but considering economic feedback for decisions
• Commitment to staying up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and regulations.
