Electrical Engineering Supervisor supervises electrical engineers and technicians who design, develop, and test all aspects of electrical components, equipment, and machinery. Additionally, Electrical Engineering Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Electrical Engineering Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Electrical Engineering Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Horne Brothers Communications, Inc. is looking for a Electrical Supervisor to join our team. This individual needs to have a strong integrations aptitude, a focus on safety, and enjoy working on cross-functional teams.

    Willingness to travel to, from, and between NC, SC, VA, and TN.

    Travel: Per diem to cover food and hotel expenses; compensation for travel time

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment failures on facility and utility processes and equipment.
    • Coordinate with power company on service interruptions, investigate and repair system failures, schedule preventive maintenance.
    • Ensure completion of breaker exercise and testing on all facility equipment.
    • Administer the infrared camera testing program to ensure compliance with fire suppression regulations.
    • Represent company on internal and external program audits.
    • Install new electrical and electronic equipment according to the National Electrical Code and plant electrical standards.
    • Adheres to all safety procedures, including lock out tag out, as mandated by plant policy.
    • Administer electrical harmonic analysis to provide recommended system improvements.
    • Accurately maintain daily logs of equipment status, failures, repairs, regulatory compliances, and other activities.
    • Identify and maintain critical spare parts for facility electrical equipment.
    • Partner with engineering to manage contracted work for new installations, drive continuous improvement and infrastructure upgrades. Obtain bids and proposals from prospective vendors.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Current State Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
    • NFPA 70E Arc Flash training and qualification.
    • Valid drivers’ license and good standing MVR.
    • Minimum of four (4) years electrical experience in industrial and commercial construction or a fast-paced service company dedicated to electrical repair in a production type facility. Five to seven years’ experience preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
    • Working knowledge of codes, standards, practices, materials and methods used in electrical maintenance.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, circuit diagrams, and various styles of equipment operation manuals.
    • Knowledge of current practices for electrical maintenance of transformer units and associated controls.
    • Knowledge of Performance Testing of Ground –Fault Protective Devices; understand NEC Art. 230.95 requirements. Manage, develop, and improve plant standards.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of technical electrical principles and the application of mathematics and dimensions as related to power requirements and electrical,
    • Perform work/collaborate with facility mechanics and machinists to accomplish work/goals.
    • Proficient in the use of a computer to enter data, create documents, spreadsheets, etc.
    • Ability to communicate; read, write, and verbally communicate in English with peers, managers, and associates at all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to foster a collaborative and supportive team.
    • Ability to work flexible hours to provide support as needed.
