Job Description:
Slate Electrical is looking for an Electrical Estimator who is experienced in both commercial and residential projects. The ideal candidate will be able to take on multiple projects at once and deliver accurate estimates in a timely manner. Duties:
- Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for electrical construction projects
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine scope of work and project
requirements
- Conduct on-site visits to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, owners, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and
complete estimates
- Utilize estimating software such as Trimble Accubid to create comprehensive cost breakdowns
- Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to determine project pricing
- Prepare bid proposals and negotiate contracts with clients
- Track and manage project costs throughout the construction process
- Provide support to project teams during the construction phase as needed
-Creation of RFI Documents
-Identify, price and track all contract change orders.
Requirements:
- 4 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in the electrical field
- Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements
- Proficient in project management principles and practices
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable contracts with clients and subcontractors
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and other technical documents
-Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Familiarity with estimating software
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost calculations
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively
-Time Management and strong prioritization skills to meet tight turnaround and bid deadlines
