May be responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software. Being an Electrical Controls Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Electrical Controls Engineer relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.     POSITION OVERVIEW: Working closely with sales, the Controls Programmer / Engineer plays a vital role in the controls division by designing and developing mechanical system controls. Calvert Controls always focuses on a total solution to provide our customers with the most energy-efficient buildings.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Run service calls of various degrees of complexity and difficulty
    • Create controls submittals as defined in project specifications
    • Understand sequence of operation of mechanical equipment
    • Create and design controls systems on your own
    • Read and understand mechanical, plumbing, and electrical drawings
    • Assist with solutions to systems problems, either troubleshooting the system or advise others on how to resolve problems
    • Develop drawing packages for new DDC projects as well as compiling close out documents including as-built drawings
    • Communicate effectively with customer and office team regarding work needed or performed
    • On-Call Schedule required

    Follows all guidelines, policies, and procedures established by Calvert Controls

     

    Required Qualifications

    • Niagara AX and/or N4 Certification
    • Familiar with Honeywell Product Line
    • Familiar with Johnson Controls Product Line
    • 602 Journeyman license
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • Must be able to obtain a DOT Certification
    • Must be able to pass a background check for Government facilities
    • OSHA 10 or 30
    • CFC Universal

    Education/Experience:                                                                               

    • High School diploma or GED
    • Implementing software code and managing all aspects of the software
    • Microsoft Visio/AutoCAD
    • 3-5 years experience in Controls programming
