    This position is located at the El Segundo DMV Driver Safety Office (DSO).


    The El Segundo Driver Safety Office, in the Legal Affairs Division (LAD), Driver Safety Branch, is seeking a motivated Motor Vehicle Representative (MVR) with experience in customer service and excellent technical, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills.

    The incumbent responds to requests for information and solves problems posed by the public, law enforcement and other governmental agencies by phone, correspondence, and in-person; interprets, applies and explains the provisions of the Vehicle Code, administrative regulations, policies, procedures, and other applicable laws to the public, law enforcement, and others; schedules hearings and interviews as requested by drivers or their representatives; schedules reexaminations as requested by Driver Safety Officers or other professional staff; and assists with correspondence, reports, and filing.

    Desirable Qualifications: excellent interpersonal, customer service, and technical technical skills; verbal/written communication skills; ability to follow instructions; flexibility in work assignments; initiative to complete work independently or as part of a team; and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

    The position(s) being advertised may be subject to allocation approval by the Human Resources Branch. Fingerprint/Criminal Record Clearance is required before hire. The Salary Range shown is the minimum and maximum for a full-time appointment. Salaries are non-negotiable and are subject to the California Department of Human Resources salary rules. Salaries for part-time and/or intermittent appointments may vary. Moving and relocation expenses will not be reimbursed for this position.
