Electric Meter Installer and Repairer tests, adjusts, and repairs electrical meters. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being an Electric Meter Installer and Repairer may be required to be certified in an area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Electric Meter Installer and Repairer relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Texas Meter & Device is hiring several full time, electric meter technicians in the Las Cruces, NM, area.
Under the general direction of the Electric Meter Installation Project Manager and/or Field Supervisor(s), the team will consist of technicians trained on residential and commercial Electric Meters. Training is at $18/hr and usually lasts about 2-3 weeks. Pay is based on production once training is successfully completed.
Technicians can make $20-30/hour or more depending on production levels. There is no cap on production pay!
Candidates must reside in the Las Cruces area as there is not a relocation allowance or per diem associated with this position.

Monday – Friday, with Saturday work available at times, if necessary
Work hours are usually an 8 hour shift, generally between the hours of 7am – 5pm (this usually means a 7am - 3:30pm shift with a 30 minute mandatory lunch break; however, hours could vary as needed)
There may become a minimal need to work some commercial accounts on an evening or overnight shift.
