Responsibilities:
Plan and implement an individualized program for each child.
Provide individualized and small group instruction that parallels regular classroom curriculum and remediates learning problems.
Involve parents in program planning and confer with them and professional staff members on each child's progress.
Assist other professional staff members in the diagnosis of learning disorders, development of planned remediation, and evaluation of pupil's progress.
Provide an appropriate physical and psychological environment to enhance learning and self-image, and reinforce constructive behavior, attitudes, and social skills.
Plan and implement a program of evaluation to determine academic and social growth.
Keep abreast of trends and developments in Special Education, and seek out creative educational practices.
Serve as a contributing member of the IEP Team in the evaluation and placement of children in the Resource Specialists Program.
