    LPLC, a leader in education nonprofits, is a comprehensive training, service, and research center with a rich history and a promising future. Located in Boise, Idaho with satellite offices in Sun Valley, LPLC was founded in 1997 by Alan and Wendy Pesky in honor of their son, Lee. Today, LPLC provides one-on-one intensive intervention to individuals facing obstacles to learning while also training teachers in the classroom and supporting students in schools and communities.     As an Education Specialist you will be responsible for providing explicit instruction in the core subjects of reading, writing, and math. You will play a pivotal role in equipping students with the foundational skills they need for academic success and personal growth.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    • Teach 1:1 – In-person and Online: Deliver intervention in-person or online via Zoom. We believe in reaching students where they are, removing barriers to students’ learning opportunities.
    • Provide Explicit Instruction in Reading, Writing, and Math: Design and deliver individualized intervention in a one-on-one clinical setting. Use of explicit instruction ensures that students receive clear, direct, and comprehensive guidance, fostering deep understanding and mastery of essential concepts and skills.
    • Engage in Formative Assessment: Create intervention plans, set instructional objectives, and utilize progress monitoring to ensure each student is reaching their learning goals.
    • Build Connections: Develop strong connections with students, parents, guardians, and school personnel through frequent communication and mini conferences, ensuring that everyone is aligned and actively involved in each student's educational journey.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in education. (Master’s preferred)
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Experience working with students with learning and attention challenges.
    • Experience delivering evidence-based intervention in reading, writing, and/or math.
    • Proficiency in using technology [for instruction.]
