Purpose of Position:
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Membership Operations and Programming, the Membership Specialist accurately and efficiently processes Membership transactions including mail processing, lounge transactions and gift memberships in support of all facets of membership retention and new membership strategy at MSM. This individual works collaboratively both within the Membership Department and with all museum departments from Advancement and Finance, to the Gate and Volunteer Services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work collaboratively with Membership specialists to process new memberships, renewals, and upgrades received through direct mail, electronically, in person and over the telephone.
· Process and coordinate daily Membership financial transactions ensuring accuracy and efficiency
· On-going Member phone and email support
· Manage financial transactions with Members and external visitors
· Actively promote programmatic ticket sales, new memberships, renewals, and upgrades
· Maintain the accuracy of Membership data
· Field detailed questions about the Museum’s programs, including age requirements, timeframes, physical activity levels, and more
· Maintain open lines of communication with Museum departments and proactively stay informed of different program offerings, including classes that require complicated registration transactions
· Work in a CRM database daily looking up records, creating new records and searching for information
· Participate in a highly collaborative department, sharing ideas, problem solving and taking initiative to advance goals
· May be required to perform other duties as assigned
· Occasionally works weekends and evenings
