Position Overview
KU Center on Developmental Disabilities (KUCDD; ) is seeking an Educational Program Manager to support the implementation of grant-funded research projects on evidence-based practices in schools. The Educational Program Manager will work directly with Dr. Lauren Bruno and Dr. Karrie Shogren across projects to lead initiatives, including activities such as: (a) independently plan, coordinate, and deliver complex trainings from inception to final presentation of the program including administrative responsibilities related to evidence-based interventions, including those designed to promote self-determination (b) provide high-quality coaching to teachers in school or community settings and support related research activities, and (c) design and conduct program assessments, analyze results, and modify programs based on results. In addition, the Education Program Manager will be responsible for information dissemination tasks to meet all grant and contract obligations, and they will supervise staff and/or student employees.

Job Description
40% - Independently plan, coordinate, and deliver complex trainings from inception to final presentation of the program including administrative responsibilities related to evidence-based interventions, including those designed to promote self-determination. Additional tasks may include: development and refinement of materials, providing training in multiple formats and settings (e.g., in-person and online) and delivering presentations or other dissemination activities in support of current or future implementers (e.g., teachers) of interventions related to self-determination (e.g., the Self-Determined Learning Model of Instruction).
35% - Provide high-quality coaching to teachers in school or community settings. Support related research activities such as: recruiting/managing teacher and student participants, tracking project activities and timelines, and monitoring data collection activities. Follow Institutional Review Board (IRB) policies for all research involving human subjects related to project activities. Provide project leadership with regular project status updates and complete other research management and supervision tasks as assigned. Travel will be required to provide high-quality professional development to research partners and other community members during onsite visits.
20% - Design and conduct program assessments, analyze results, and modify programs based on results. Meet all information dissemination tasks to satisfy all grant and contract obligations. Perform entry of project data into data collection systems, including fidelity of implementation of evidence-based practices and coaching data.
5% - Supervise staff and/or student employees and support additional project activities as required.
Position Requirements
This position will be located on the University of Kansas Lawrence campus, with some opportunity for telework. Travel will be required to provide high-quality professional development to research partners and other community members during onsite visits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education (including special education), psychology (including clinical psychology), health and social sciences, disability studies, or related area plus five (5) years related professional experience, OR Master's degree in education (including special education), psychology (including clinical psychology), health and social sciences, disability studies, or related area plus one (1) year related professional experience.
- One year experience working with students with disabilities in secondary school settings or with adults with disabilities in the community.
- One year experience delivering professional development/trainings and/or instructional coaching via in-person and/or virtual formats as evidenced by application materials.
- Excellent communication skills as evidenced in application materials.
- Excellent attention to detail as evidenced by application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with people with disabilities and/or their families.
- Experience working with more than one project at a time.
- Two or more years of experience with project management, information dissemination, data collection, or experience on research projects.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills as evidenced by application materials and interview.
