    General Position Description

    The Education Manager is responsible for assisting the Executive Director in ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education for all children within the center’s care. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Education Manager works with staff to ensure that curriculum and classroom activities are properly delivered, and that the needs of the students and the goals of the center are met appropriately.

    Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,000

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support and carry out all Early Headstart/Headstart Requirements.
    • Supervise education staff (teachers, floaters, etc.).
    • Work with Teachers to develop lesson plans that support curriculum; ensure they have access to appropriate materials.
    • Review Teacher notes and comments and make suggestions for improvement.
    • Collaborate with Teachers to prepare means of sharing curriculum with parents.
    • Identify educational opportunities to further develop skills of center staff.
    • Stay abreast of new developments in early learning curricula; introduce curricula improvements.
    • Follow all center policies and state regulations.
    • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
    • Maintain compliance of staff files.
    • Assist with planning of staff development
    • Day to Day ratio management
    • Assist with Kentucky Allstars
    • Assist with monthly required paperwork
    • Assist with maintenance and up-keep of the center

    Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

    • Minimum of 3 years experience in early childhood setting; significant curriculum development.
    • Strong understanding of child development.
    • Ability to work well with others and to foster a team environment.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Must clear full background check.
    • Must pass health screening.

    Educational Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study.
    • Master’s Degree preferred.

    • Physical Demands & Effort: May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. Position may require moderate amount of lifting, carrying items, bending and stretching. Regular requirement, and as needed, to lift children (up to 45 lbs.), including bending, stooping, stretching, squatting, pushing and pulling, and sitting and walking while working indoors or outdoors. Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children. Must be able to see and hear well enough to keep children safe and engage in physical activity with children.
    • Work Environment: Fast-paced, safety-focused classroom environment. Noise level can be moderate to loud within center. Require to engaged in indoor and outdoor activities, dependent on weather.
    • Machines, Tools & Equipment: Ability to use and understand the operation of basic office equipment that incudes, but not limited to computers and various applications, printer, photocopy machine, telephone, cell phone, calculator and shredder.
