In collaboration with the Executive Director/Principal and Dean of Instruction, the Special Education Director is responsible for and facilitates the structures, processes, and supports that will guarantee that the needs of special education students are being met appropriately. This position ensures that the school complies with state and federal special education regulations. In collaboration with stakeholders, the Special Education Coordinator envisions and implements the Least Restrictive Environment for our students, whether it is inclusion or specialized learning environments. Depending on student needs, there exists the potential to teach one class or advisory.
Required Qualifications: Special Education License (Level 2 or higher) and/or Professional License (such as an Interventionist or Social Worker), prior administrative experience, and experience with special education program design, implementation, and compliance.
Experience with differentiation and delivery of accommodations in a classroom setting is essential. Initiative and follow-through are expectations of the position. Must have experience writing compliant IEPs.
