Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Assistant Director for Residential Education

  • The Department of Residence Life is seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Assistant Director for Residential Education. Reporting to the Associate Director of Residence Life Administration, this position serves as a member of the department's central management team and will have the opportunity to coordinate campus wide learning initiatives, develop new professional staff, and facilitate student staff connections with residents. This position gives the successful candidate autonomy to make their own decisions while being supported by strong colleagues.

    The Assistant Director for Residential Education is responsible for providing overall leadership for Residence Life’s curricular model. This includes oversight for curriculum, learning communities, faculty involvement and diversity initiatives. This position also contributes to the overall administration of the department, including assessment and budget processes.

    Advertised Salary:

    $60,000 / Year

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree or ten years of direct experience in Student Affairs
    • 5 years of progressive leadership experience in Student Affairs
    • Experience working with curriculum development including living-learning communities, and/or faculty involvement
    • Experience utilizing all components of the assessment cycle (developing, conducting, analyzing, and implementing change based on assessments) to assess learning outcomes and program services
    • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
    • Strong interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Demonstrated success as a team player and working collaboratively with other campus departments

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 2 years post Master’s degree
    • Experience designing, implementing, and sustaining a residential curriculum
    • Departmental coordination of diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts
