Education Director provides supervision and direction of nursing education programs. Develops and implements course content and curriculums to train and update skills and knowledge of in-service nurses. Being a Education Director remains current and knowledgeable regarding federal and state regulations. Provides oversight and day-to-day guidance to staff. Additionally, Education Director typically requires a master's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to senior management. The Education Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Education Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Job Description:
    The Director, Parks and Museum Education serves as the academic administrator and lead entrepreneur responsible for Hocking College's Park and Museum Education program, as well as the live learning labs and entrepreneurial endeavors. This includes various lab sites such as, the Nature Center, Robbins Crossing Living History Village, Lake Snowden Recreation Site.
    As the academic administrator, the Director will be responsible for: cultivation of leads, recruitment and enrollment of students in the program; provide effective day-to-day management and administration of the program; supervision of all faculty and coordinate adjunct assignments including evaluations; developing and maintaining curriculum to ensure student employability upon program completion; working with students and faculty to resolve conflicts and serving as the second step in grade appeals; and driving student involvement in the advising process by maintaining sufficient advising hours compatible with student schedules, advising students regarding coursework and graduation progress.
    The Director is also responsible for managing learning laboratories and entrepreneurial ventures including the management of Lake Snowden Recreation Site in collaboration with other leads, to oversee land management, campground and water park operations. This includes but is not limited to: managing purchasing, budgeting, staff and programming at relevant facilities and field operations; and promoting and publicizing programs and opportunities to include the general public.
