Being an ERP Programmer develops coding to support the programming of new ERP modules and system upgrades and assists with the configuration planning and deployment of releases. Ensures ERP data and system infrastructure security, designs patches for vulnerabilities, and develops backup processes. Additionally, ERP Programmer plans and designs application tables, reports, and new modules to improve system configuration, functionality, and efficiency. Under general direction, the Programmer is responsible for Information Technology programming requirements for Institute projects, including maintenance and support for in-house developed applications. Supports the analysis of project requirements, then defines and implements solutions. Writes code, tests, and validates software programs and applications. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the product life cycle. Analyzes and amends software errors in a timely and accurate fashion, and provides status reports where required. Data analysis tasks include definition, analysis, quality control measures, and documentation of results. Individual is responsible for the development of databases, web interfaces and general programs or scripts to satisfy specific project needs.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 years of directly related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.
Experience with Windows operating systems. Computer programming experience in C#.NET, Visual Basic, Microsoft MVC, Java Script, Entity Framework, IIS, LINQ, T-SQL, jQuery, HTML, CSS and MS SQL Server. Experience required with managing software development projects supporting programming activities, specifically integrating database development with web applications. Must have excellent presentation skills, as well as experience with singularly supporting advanced research project teams as a programmer.
Demonstrated experience managing multiple software development projects, development of software code using object oriented and web tools while developing associated documentation. Ability to comply with internal standard operating procedures and industry standards, and assure that programming standards and changes are adequately documented. Ability to analyze and solve problems.
Must have superior professional-level written and verbal communication skills; a high degree of professionalism and excellent problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability in managing a wide variety of complex tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting multiple deadlines is required. Must have the ability to work independently and as a part of a team as well as the ability to maintain confidential information.
Ability to gain and maintain access to Kirtland Air Force base (KAFB) and successful completion of various background checks is required.
