EHR Application Analyst, Sr. plans, analyzes, designs and modifies EHR (electronic health record) software applications, including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support the implementation of one or more software modules. Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. Being an EHR Application Analyst, Sr. may be expected to write documentation describing program development, logic, coding, and corrections. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, EHR Application Analyst, Sr. requires EPIC Certification in one or more dedicated modules, such as Scheduling, Emergency Room, Patient Registration, or other medical specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The EHR Application Analyst, Sr. work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group.     Position Summary• The EHR Applications Analyst will have primary responsibility for requirementgathering, design, build/configuration, testing, validation and ongoing support oftheir assigned Epic application(s) and third-party systems related to thoseapplications. The Analyst will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining indepthknowledge of the software functionality and acquiring/utilizing knowledgeof the operational workflows to be implemented with the Epic system. TheAnalyst will be responsible for coordinating aspects of planning, design,development, implementation, adoption, communication, maintenance andevaluation of existing or new functionality related to Epic and related informationsystems. Responsible for managing projects related to Epic and related thirdpartysystems.     Responsibilities

    Job Roles• Safetyo Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient safety.• Record Keepingo Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and otherdocuments, using the ITSM system as required.• Process Improvemento Promotes a culture of process improvement by participating inunit/department based programs that supports the system’s processimprovement goals.o Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams as needed.• Role Specific Responsibilitieso Understanding of the organization, users and workflow in the analyst’sassigned area.o Ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, manage issues,oversight and implementation of project plans. Work with Epic TS andrelated Epic Application Analysts to manage complex issues andoptimization.o Ability to probe for information about the underlying needs of theorganization and user community, which directly influences how thesystem will be built.o Thoroughly review, analyze and test every system change; follow properchange control processes.o Assists in the development, implementation, education, evaluation,maintenance and coordination of Epic and related applications.o Assists with and/or develops tip sheets or training documentation for new,or changes to current, workflows; communicate with departmentleadership and application users any specific information related to theirapplication.o Maintain an Epic user web account to access group discussions, whitepapers, training documents, new version training material and releasenotes. Attends webinars, seminars and workshops to learn about newdevelopments and changing technology trends; may participate in testingnew vendor provided software in a test environment for possible use bythe health system.o Maintain contacts with Epic partner and related vendors; attend productdemonstrations, user group meetings, Epic sponsored webinars, and/orarrange to acquire and install system upgrades.o Responsible for the coordination and completion of assigned projects,including project definition, assignment of task responsibilities, settingdeadlines, and all other aspects of project management.o Performs other related work as required.o Trains and mentors team members.o Strives to adhere to SIH Commitment to Care and ITS CoreCompetencies.

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience• Associate’s degree in Business, IT or Healthcare Related field required or 2 yearsof IT or healthcare experience in lieu of degreeLicenses and Certification• Relevant job related certifications with Epic application certification within 90days of hire, as applicablePhysical Activities• Functional demands of the job are sedentary, requiring very light energy levelWorking Conditions• Works in a heated, air-conditioned office with routine office noise or remotely asper SY-HR-427. Operates a personal computer and general office equipment.Occasional exposure to moderate environmental variations and limited exposureto hazardous or potentially injurious elements or conditions.
