EEO Manager manages the administration of programs that promote employee and vendor diversity. Designs and implements procedures to ensure compliance with internal polices and external diversity regulations. Being a EEO Manager oversees initiatives to foster knowledge and adoption of diversity and inclusion topics and best practices, and to ensure the organization employs strategies to attract, develop, and retain members of underrepresented groups. Uses statistics, metrics, and reports to assess the progress and effectiveness of diversity initiatives. Additionally, EEO Manager may be responsible for managing diversity training. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The EEO Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a EEO Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Job Summary: The Employment and Educational Opportunity Specialist develops, implements, and ensures compliance with Title II, Title VII, Title IX, Section 504, and other equal opportunity laws at the state and federal levels. In serving as the Title IX investigator and coordinator this position assists the office of the assistant superintendent in receiving and investigating complaints of discrimination and harassment related to students to determine violations of policies; making recommendations for findings and resolutions; assisting with the protocols and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal laws and board of education policy.

    Salary: Grade 7: $75,895.46 - $106,594.38 DOE
    Work Day: 8 hours per day
    Work Year: 10 months
    Bargaining Unit: Non-Represented

    Job Qualifications/Requirements (please review job description for qualifications and duties of the position):

    • Bachelor’s degree in a social services-related field, legal studies, or another closely related field. A combination of college coursework and relevant training or professional development may substitute for a degree.
    • Three (3) years experience working in student affairs, student counseling, or other role that involves direct contact with students.
    • Ability to interpret federal and state nondiscrimination laws and regulations, including Title IX, sexual harassment, and other applicable laws and regulations.
    • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills are required in order to complete and present concise and logical analytical reports.
    • Strong skills in developing and presenting information to diverse groups of people.
    • Strong knowledge of investigation best practices.
    • Excellent organization, planning, analytical, and problem-resolution abilities.
    • Excellent skills in the use of Microsoft Office programs.
    • Must be able to manage highly sensitive confidential information.
    • Ability to handle situations involving confrontation and conflict; to identify problems, organize facts, and design a plan for resolution; and to define issues and determine appropriate responses.
    • Must be able to travel to various schools and offices within the Fairbanks North Star Borough. While driving on district business, must hold a valid driver’s license, current vehicle insurance and registration.
