EEG Technician performs electroencephalograms in accordance with established practices and procedures. Attaches electrodes to the patient. Being an EEG Technician records impulse frequencies and differences in electrical potential between various areas of the brain to obtain data for use in the diagnosis of brain disorders. Provides preliminary diagnostic evaluation and notifies neurologist of results of examinations. Additionally, EEG Technician consults with neurologist to establish requirements for non-standard examinations and determines technical factors to satisfy requirements. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The EEG Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be an EEG Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

    EEG Technician - St Mary Medical Center-Walla Walla, WA

    Performs neurodiagnostic and polysomnographic procedures as described in department protocols. Performs analysis of polysomnograms. Involves general guidance and direction by the department director and Sleep Center medical director.

    Shift details: Full time, Day shift, 10 Hour Daily Overtime 40 Hour Week

    Required Qualifications:

    • Formal Training in Electroneurodiagnostics to score PSGs and conduct MSLTs and MWTs

    • National Certification from American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists upon hire

    • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire

    • 1 year experience with EEG," evoked potentials and polysomnography
