EEG Technician performs electroencephalograms in accordance with established practices and procedures. Attaches electrodes to the patient. Being an EEG Technician records impulse frequencies and differences in electrical potential between various areas of the brain to obtain data for use in the diagnosis of brain disorders. Provides preliminary diagnostic evaluation and notifies neurologist of results of examinations. Additionally, EEG Technician consults with neurologist to establish requirements for non-standard examinations and determines technical factors to satisfy requirements. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The EEG Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be an EEG Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

    An Electroencephalograph Set Up Technician (“EEGT”) performs in home diagnostic testing on patients, which generates reports for physical interpretations.

    EEG Technician duties include, but are not limited to:

    · Perform EEG testing on patients in their home.

    · Ensure all ordered procedures are completed in an organized, efficient manner.

    · Effectively interact with patients, families, physicians, and all other healthcare workers.

    · Input patient demographics and exam details into a report format for the Neurologist’s review.

    · Provide expert knowledge of EEG pattern recognition.

    · Operate and store EEG equipment, take pertinent patient history on outpatients and inpatients, and integrate all aspects of care for all age ranges.

    · Maintain patient confidentiality with HIPAA regulations.

    Required:

    · High School Diploma or equivalent.

    · Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

    · Detail oriented and able to work with large amounts of data.

    · Extensive experience in EEG analysis programs.

    · Must be able to read, evaluate and interpret data and perform mathematical functions.

    · Must be able and willing to push, pull, lift, carry and move up to 15lbs and sit and stand for extended periods of time.

    · Must have the ability to be on call one weekend per month.

    · Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation as the position requires travel with a driving radius of two (2) hours. A $300.00 monthly automobile allowance will be provided.

    Preferred:

    · Postsecondary study or Associates Degree in Neurodiagnostic technology (including neuroanatomy, physiology, psychology, instrumentation) or health-related field preferred but not required.

    $750 hiring bonus after 6 months of employment!

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $52,000.00 per year
