Division Overview:
The Operations Division provides information and assistance to taxpayers and tax practitioners of the Commonwealth, reviews applications for abatement of tax and adjusts taxpayer accounts. Operations mission is to deliver outstanding customer service, maximize revenue collections using the most innovative cost-effective means available and to promote DOR's enhanced web service self-help tools. The agency is seeking an EDP Entry Operator III; this position is an ON-SITE position and must report to work at 200 Arlington Street, Chelsea, MA each day.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Extract documents from envelope and sort accordingly by category.
- Batch and prepare all incoming documents for Doc Prep and Child Support documents.
- Perform scanning functions for tax forms and child support documents.
- Scans tax returns and child support documents by operating a 2D IBML scanner.
- Perform Form ID, Batch Review and Rescan functions of Fairfax.
- Process documents on a flatbed Fujitsu and Kodak scanners.
- Assists in the transport and storage of batches in workflow.
- Slice on the Omation 306 slicing machines all inbound mail directed to the processing division.
- Key various returns on Fairfax and Genisys on line systems.
- Basic computer skills and general knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Assist in all processing duties based on operational needs and goals set by the department.

Minimum Entrance Requirements:
Applicants must have (A) at least two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, clerical experience in the operation of electronic data processing data entry equipment or statistical machines such as key punch, key to disk, key to tape and verifiers, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Substitutions:
I. A certificate or diploma as evidence of completion of a course of study in business or electronic data processing or computer programming may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.*
II. An Associate's Degree in business or electronic data processing or computer programming may be substituted for the required experience.*
- Education toward such a certificate, diploma or degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
