e-Commerce Manager manages the development, deployment, and maintenance of e-commerce websites. Oversees e-commerce site developers to ensure that e-commerce sites are built and expanded based on evolving technology and business needs. Being an e-Commerce Manager creates and implements processes and procedures for integrating e-commerce sites with backend systems, including pricing, inventory, and customer relationship databases. Requires knowledge of common web development languages (e.g., HTML, Java, PHP, JSP, ASP.NET, Python, AJAX.) Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, e-Commerce Manager typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The e-Commerce Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an e-Commerce Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. POSITION SUMMARY:
Rappahannock Goodwill Industries (RGI) is searching for an E-Commerce Operations Manager. The E-Commerce Operations Manager manages the entire ecommerce presence for the retail operation. They facilitate processes and optimize production line efficiencies. They manage assortment, optimize product valuation techniques, and maximize the flow of product from all sources including retail stores. The Operations Manager – ecommerce focuses on improving sell through rates by enhancing the quality and value of listings throughout all selling platforms.
They are expected to develop a great culture within the ecommerce department and establish a cohesive partnership between the store management and the ecommerce management teams. They must be able to resolve issues, set clear objectives and lead the team to meet those objectives. They are to provide the highest level of customer service, creating a top-level customer experience that promotes our brand.
They’re responsible for increasing revenue and reaching ecommerce sales goals that show consistent year over year increases.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:- Implements a full ecommerce and omnichannel program roadmap and works to identify opportunities to optimize each selling channel.
- Reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), with a focus on data analytics to find solutions to common performance issues.
- Builds and maintains good relationships with business unit leaders within the organization, along with key online retailers/partners.
- Has a good working knowledge of operating platforms and knows how to optimize the tools.
- Collaborates with marketing to ensure the creation, communication and execution of digital marketing tactics and strategies.
- Develops recommendations for promotional activity enhancements and product offerings.
- Works with members of the retail team including Senior Director – Retail Operations, and Store Management on itemizing item selection to be sent to ecommerce.
- Develops succession plan approach and supports team members in their career development.
- Displays exceptional organizational, time management and communication skills.
- A proven track record in delivering online sales results – 2-3 years of digital marketing experience preferred.
- Hands on experience with omnichannel marketing.
- Has the ability to apply strategies that help improve online performance.
- Proven success developing, executing, and maintaining sophisticated digital commerce brand strategies, successful delivery of business value, near and mid-term growth for a brand.
- Experience in using industry tools (analytics) that focus on customer experience, marketing, and production.
- Knowledgeable of ecommerce platforms.
- Ability to manage a large diverse team.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Training:- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in E-Commerce management, 3 years of prior experience in E-Commerce experience is a high-volume operation strongly preferred.
- Ability to stand and move around for extended periods, lift objects up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, turning and repetitive motions.
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, dirt, and noise.
- Travel as necessary (10%)
