Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project plans and specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, and negotiating contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management.
Duties:
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work
- Utilize estimating software, such as Quick Bid, to prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop accurate and competitive bids
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and identify potential challenges or opportunities
- Research and analyze historical data, market trends, and industry benchmarks to inform cost estimates
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that clearly outline the scope of work, pricing details, and contract terms
- Present cost estimates to clients and participate in negotiations to secure contracts
- Collaborate with the project team during the construction phase to ensure cost control measures are implemented
- Utilize project management software, such as Bluebeam, to track project progress and update cost estimates as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles and practices
- Proficiency in using estimating software, such as HeavyBid
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project documents
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable contract terms
- Familiarity with project management software, such as Bluebeam
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
