Drywall Installer plans, installs, and repairs drywalls to cover walls, ceilings, soffits, shafts, and movable partitions in residential and commercial areas. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Drywall Installer may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Drywall Installer relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. - Measure, cut, and install drywall sheets to cover walls, ceilings, and partitions- Prepare surfaces by removing old drywall, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing rough areas- Apply tape and joint compound to seal joints between drywall panels- Use hand tools or machines to sand, polish, and finish drywall surfaces- Repair or replace damaged drywall sections as needed- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 to 2 yrs experience
- Proficient in carpentry skills related to drywall installation and finishing a plus
- Knowledge of plastering techniques and materials a plus
- Experience with water damage restoration and mold remediation is a plus
