Drilling Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of oil and gas wells. Performs design evaluations and recommends alterations to improve safety, costs, and efficiency. Being a Drilling Engineer may conduct risk assessment and cost estimation. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Additionally, Drilling Engineer is familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. Responsibilities:
- Operations of drilling rig
- Operate equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and other heavy machinery
- Manage drill crew
- Follow all safety protocols and adhere to OSHA regulations
Experience:
- Previous experience as a driller or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of commercial driving and forklift operation is a plus
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and lift heavy objects
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
