Job Title: CAD Drafting Technician

Status: Full-Time

Summary: The CAD Drafting Technician will primarily create drawings in CAD from existing models and will work directly with Engineering, Purchasing and Manufacturing. CAD modelling or revisions to existing models will also be required. In addition, this individual will create ERP entries accurately and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities: As a CAD Drafting Technician you will:

• Create detailed drawings in CAD from existing models and manage drawings in Enterprise PDM (the Vault).
• Revise existing drawings in CAD according to engineering and Engineering Change Order (ECO) direction.
• Perform basic CAD modelling (part creation as well as part revisions).
• Perform basic CAD assembly work (assembly creation as well as assembly revisions).
• Work through the ECO process to release and revise items for fabrication, purchase, and production.
• Enter and maintain part numbers, bills of materials and items into our ERP system, Syteline.
• Enter and maintain routing data and vendor information for purchased items.
• Create work procedures and document assembly instructions for various products and processes.
• Work closely and cross functionally with various Engineering divisions and business departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

You’re a great fit for this position if this describes you: 

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Comprehensive computer skills with the ability to quickly become competent with various software programs (MS office suite required).
• Proven experience with CAD drafting programs and methodologies.
• Prior experience with SolidWorks, and SolidEdge and/or AutoCAD a plus.
• Strong mechanical ability and an aptitude for drawing and detailing work. 
• Solid organizational skills to help manage multiple areas of activity
• An understanding of general manufacturing concepts and workflow.
• Ability to work in a team environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Capacity to work independently for extended periods without losing focus.
• Ability to respond and adapt to change favorably and quickly.
• Follow verbal and written instructions, directions and other communication in English.
