Drafter jobs in New Mexico

Due to recent growth, Insight Lighting, is seeking to add one more Drafter to join our dynamic engineering department. As a Drafter, you will play a crucial role in creating accurate and detailed drawings, collaborating with the engineering team to ensure the successful development and implementation of lighting fixtures.

Responsibilities:

• Create precise 2D and 3D drawings using industry-standard drafting software (must have Solidworks experience) to support the design and manufacturing of architectural lighting fixtures.
• Revise and generate installation sheets, ensuring accurate and comprehensive documentation for installation teams.
• Complete submittals by gathering and organizing technical data, specifications, and drawings, adhering to project deadlines and requirements.
• Edit and modify existing drawings to reflect design changes or customer specifications, collaborating with engineers to ensure accuracy.
• Archive and maintain organized records of drawings, ensuring easy retrieval and reference for future projects.
• Issue revised drawings promptly and efficiently to relevant stakeholders, maintaining effective communication channels within the team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of design and manufacturing processes.
• Stay up-to-date with industry standards, codes, and regulations to ensure compliance in all drafted designs.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required, with 2-5 years of drafting experience.
• Additional educational degree and/or certification from a technical school in drafting or related field is a plus.
• Proficiency in using drafting software such as Solidworks, MS Word, Excel, and data entry programs is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to create accurate and detailed 2D and 3D drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meticulously review and revise drawings.
• Excellent organizational skills to maintain a comprehensive record of drawings and revisions.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with engineering and cross-functional teams.
• Adaptable and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Knowledge of architectural lighting fixtures or related mechanical experience is desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
