Description
MAIN OBJECTIVE
Utilize AutoCAD, Revit and other company provided software programs to effectively produce accurate 2D & 3D models, shop drawings, and submittal drawings for internal and external customers, submission to architects and to populate product archives.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete complex drafting assignments under minimal supervision while meeting company standards.
Create drawings and models from written and verbal specifications obtained from outside architects, General Contractors and other known customer specifications.
Complete project responsibilities within scope and schedule to support production.
Review drawings for completeness and accuracy.
Maintain all revisions of project drawings.
Work with designers and program managers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and design documentation.
Examine and check engineering drawings for compliance with cited specifications.
Provide timely technical assistance and solutions to the team.
Prepare engineering documents for customer submittal.
Research, take-off and requisition of materials.
Communicate and work with Architects to finalize design details and/or get correct information and approval of drawings.
Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new products
Understand basic programming of products.
Required to follow all company Safety Rules and Procedures. (including but not limited to PPE)
Required to maintain consistent and acceptable attendance according to the assigned schedule provided by the manager as well as the Team Member Manual.
Meet departmental goals and defined key performance indicators (KPIs).
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Drafting, Design, or similar reqiured. A degree may be replaced by a minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
A minimum of 1 year of prior 3D design work experience is required.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required.
Manufacturing Industry understanding and experience are required.
Some experience in wood products preferred.
American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) Certification preferred.
Ability to work overtime and weekends when needed. Daily reliable attendance, transportation, and punctuality are required.
Able to adhere to the companys established standards of high quality and deadline-driven schedules simultaneously.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Excellent technical skills with proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and the Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to take advice and constructive criticism, as well as to offer it, when needed.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Excellent math skills- drawings may require solving mathematical calculations involving angles, weights, and costs.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and complete a wide variety of tasks.
