Donor Research Coordinator, Sr. identifies potential donors and evaluates their interests and capacity to give to the organization. Conducts research and prospecting to locate individuals aligning with the organization's values and mission. Being a Donor Research Coordinator, Sr. analyzes data for trends and creates donor profiles to assist with donor development, stewardship, and direct communications and fundraising strategy. Uses a database or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to maintain research data and donor records, execute mailing or e-mail campaigns, and create reports. Additionally, Donor Research Coordinator, Sr. maintains confidentiality and complies with data privacy regulations and policies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Donor Research Coordinator, Sr. work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
    Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full-time experience in donor experience, alumni, events, or a related field (i.e., business, higher education, non-profit, or health care systems).

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace.

Reporting to the Director of Donor Experience, you will join a high-performing team charged with strengthening relationships and demonstrating the impact of donors’ philanthropy. You will create, manage, and execute programs that steward and recognize donors via written communications, activities, and donor walls while developing the skills and tangible results to accelerate your professional development.     Your core responsibilities will include:
    • Develop, manage, and enhance key stewardship and recognition processes and communications to donors related to their philanthropic support. Serving as project manager, lead writer, and researcher for custom-produced donor communications, such as annual impact and endowment reporting. Devising strategies for meaningful donor recognition via custom impact communications for individual supporters, impact pieces for broad audiences, recognition for capital project donors, and other tactics that convey the impact of giving.
    • Manage donor recognition displays, donor walls, and naming opportunities, including maintaining current displays and creating and implementing new displays. Create custom donor gifts, including photo books, one-of-a-kind memorabilia, and framed certificates in collaboration with donors’ development officers. Maintain clear, accurate, and detailed reports and records.
    • Build and carry out communication strategies and touchpoints to convey the impact of the highest-level donor gifts in a direct and personal way.
    • Manage donor-giving societies, such as the Toll Society.
    • Identify, propose, and manage projects to improve processes and efficiency. Stay apprised of donor relations, stewardship best practices, industry trends, and relevant data about donor behavior/preferences in general and at SBU. Recommend new initiatives and other meaningful touchpoints for a variety of supporters.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Special Notes:
    The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
