As a Documentation Specialist, you will support the engineering team in the creation and management of the engineering documentation. In this role, you will have the opportunity to prepare, distribute, and store accurate and timely customer and supplier documents for projects as per the company's or project's procedures. Each day, you will ensure effective version control and status tracking. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting colleagues with advice and guidance on documentation control issues.
This role will need to be able to work daily at our Florence, SC facility.

This position reports toEngineering Manager I
Your responsibilities- Managing documentation to ensure proper version control in the document management system
- Ensuring that documentation is maintained in compliance with the company's/project's procedures, including format, receipt, registration, number, filing, recovery, and the issue of documents
- Assists in the preparation of the document list, periodically updates and issues the document list, as well as prepares and updates progress reports as per the schedule
- Supports colleagues with advice and guidance on documentation control issues
- Learns from best practices/lessons-learned documentation
- Contributes to process enhancements related to document management and applies the document management system efficiently
- Uses standard processes and tools applicable to their own area of responsibility
- Reports process and tool inefficiencies and suggests ideas for improvement
- Follows the work schedule for their own area of responsibility
- Delivers on the agreed timeline, cost estimate, and set quality standards
- Sets up the documentation management system and document controls process in conjunction with the project team
- Codes issued documents, ensures that reviews, numbering, distribution, filing, and registration are in compliance with procedures, e.g., information classification and handling for confidentiality
- Monitors the progress of project documentation and updates the receipt and document distribution information register
- Communicates deadlines to the team for document delivery
- Organizes final documents and maintains them in the internal or external archive
- Monitors and reports actual versus planned time for document management work packages
- Reports any integrity, compliance, safety, cybersecurity, quality, contract, program, cost issues to management for resolution
- Supports colleagues with advice and guidance on documentation control issues
- Communicates and provides relevant information to stakeholders and customers effectively

Your background- Associate's degree in technical or engineering field with 2 to 4 years of experience (OR) a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 6 years of experience
- Knowledge of electrical distribution, power electronics or control systems is beneficial
- Software / Technology Savvy is a requirement, this role will utilize various kinds of software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) although experience directly with those are not required
- Skills in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Experience working with many file types
- Tracking and driving workflows
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written with multiple disciplines (engineering, purchasing, production, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of SAP or ERP system
- Capable of working in high demand environment as individual or team
- Generate deliverables and executes assignments on-time
- Perform other tasks as required
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
