Documentation Manager manages the production of functional, configuration, and user interface documentation for computer software and hardware products. Develops and deploys standardized documentation methods and tools to efficiently produce high-quality content. Being a Documentation Manager establishes processes for effective document control. Plans and directs documentation projects and timelines. Additionally, Documentation Manager may act as final approver or editor for projects. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Documentation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Documentation Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
