Document Imaging Operator operates document imaging equipment to create electronic files or archives. Prepares documents for scanning, scans documents, and verifies quality of digital images. Being a Document Imaging Operator indexes and stores images according to organization guidelines. Troubleshoots and makes adjustments to equipment when necessary. Additionally, Document Imaging Operator typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Document Imaging Operator possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. The Document Imaging Specialist, under the leadership of the HIM Operations Supervisor, will perform all aspects of the Document Imaging functions for the electronic health record. The Specialist will make rounds throughout the hospital to retrieve records from patient care areas. Responsibilities include prepping, scanning and indexing paper medical record documentation. The Document Imaging Specialist will perform all tasks within defined expectations for productivity and quality, to ensure the integrity of the electronic health record. Keeps all patient information confidential and abides with privacy and security regulations.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience:
Prior medical office experience or document processing/scanning/indexing or Health Information Management experience preferre
