Document Control Manager oversees document and record control operations, policies, and procedures for the secure management and access of company information assets. Establishes security protocols for the access, storage, backup, maintenance, reproduction, protection, and disposition of all documents. Being a Document Control Manager evaluates media formats and recommends storage requirements to protect and secure records/information. Develops and manages access and control procedures to comply with requirements for varying levels of security classifications specified by the governing authority. Additionally, Document Control Manager maintains auditing, monitoring, and change control systems to ensure document integrity, quality, and version control. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require security clearance. Typically reports to a director. The Document Control Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Document Control Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     AECOM is seeking a dynamic Document Control Specialist III to be based in New England for local and other regional projects.

    While the position is primarily for New England Transit and Transportation, AECOM has an impressive backlog of transportation and transit / rail projects in the New England area which provides exceptional opportunity for professional growth.

    The primary client will be MBTA. This position can be based out of various metropolitan Boston office locations and allows for a hybrid working scenario including in-office collaboration sessions as well as remote work.

    DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

    • Will ensure changes to document in a timely fashion to meet set deadlines.
    • Responsible for coordination with other parties to make sure document edits are made and proofed.
    • Tracks and keeps records of documents.
    • Follows standardized procedures but may have to use discretion to complete project.
    • Will ensure document tracking and production system is maintained.
    • Prepares and maintains a document control system for all forms of documentation.
    • Makes copies of drawing for production and other company employees.
    • Assures that all completed documents have been signed-off by the appropriate personnel.
    • Will distribute copies of documents to the appropriate personnel.
    • Implements and follows company quality assurance program procedures.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements :

    BA / BS plus four years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.

    Preferred Qualifications :

    • 5 years of experience in document control.
    • Understanding of Quality Assurance within the engineering / construction field.
    • Excellent communication and team management skills.
    • Excellent client management and relationship skills.
    • Ability to work with remote teams to ensure quality assurance and compliance.

    Exempt Position : Offered rate of compensation (New Jersey locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.

    The salary range for this position is $61,000 to $101,000.
